Introduction for matter
ApprovedIntroduction for matter
ApprovedDefinition : Matter is anything that has mass and occupies space.
It makes up everything in the universe, from the air we breathe to the stars in the sky.
States of matter:
Matter exists in different states—
solid, liquid, gas, and plasma—depending on how its particles are arranged and how much energy they have. In solids, particles are tightly packed and vibrate in place;
in liquids, they are close but can move past each other;
in gases, they are far apart and move freely.
Matter is made up of tiny particles called atoms and molecules, which determine its properties and behavior.
Understanding matter is fundamental in science because it helps explain physical and chemical changes, energy transfer, and the composition of substances around us.
