FACTORS AND MULTIPLES

Lesson Notes
Factor: A number that divides another number exactly.
Example: Factors of 12 → 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12
Multiple: A product of a number and any integer.
Example: Multiples of 5 → 5, 10, 15, 20, 25
Worked Examples
Example 1:
Find all factors of 36.
Solution:
1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 12, 18, 36
Example 2:
List the first five multiples of 8.
Solution:
8, 16, 24, 32, 40

3. Find the greatest factor (other than itself) of 28.
